The seat should provide attenuation of impacts reducing force imparted to operators, and by measuring the ratio of cab to seat acceleration, the performance of the seat can be accurately monitored. Seats providing reduced attenuation can be inspected / replaced before failure, significantly reducing the potential of injury to operators.
